Daily UPI Limits for Top Banks In India

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), a body under RBI regulation, developed the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) as an instantaneous payment system. The IMPS infrastructure serves as the foundation for UPI, which enables the instantaneous transfer of money between any two bank accounts.

When sending money to someone else, there are limits on the amount you may send each transaction and the total amount you can send in a day. These limits are set by the NPCI and occasionally by banks.

What Is The Limit Of Fund Transfer Using UPI?

The daily transaction limit for regular UPI is Rs 1 lakh per transaction. The maximum transaction limit for some UPI categories, including Capital Markets, Collections, Insurance, and Foreign Inward Remittances, is Rs 2 lakh. The maximum transaction limit for Initial Public Offering and Retail Direct Scheme is Rs 5 lakh.

For Whom Does It Have A Higher Limit?

For merchant transactions like capital markets, insurance, and foreign inbound remittances, you can transmit up to Rs 2 lakh via UPI. When scheduling an IPO or using the RBI Retail Direct Scheme to make payments, the maximum amount per transaction is Rs 5 lakh.

Your bank might not allow P2P transactions using UPI, even if they are limited to a maximum of Rs 1 lakh per transaction. There are variations in UPI transaction limitations across banks.
