It all went wrong when the government-owned ‘national news channel’ DD News made wrong casting. The government recently announced that Rs 500 would be credited in all Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana accounts in name of women amidst pandemic.

DD News in a move to show that the benefit is delivered to the beneficiary released a video. In the video, a ‘well to do’ lady is seen thanking the government for Rs 500. She says she was stressed but the government’s help (Rs 500) has given her quite a relief amidst the crisis. This wrong casting or choice of the beneficiary was caught by netizens. And the began the ‘troll game’.
