Presenting his concern over highlighting of his constituencies in bad light in the recently launched trailer of Mardaani 2 Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla said that defaming the name of a city via cinema is unacceptable.

Residents of Kota met Birla on Friday pointing out their concern on the trailer that shows the city in a bad light. The resident said that the city is an educational hub but the movie presents it in an altogether different light. Residents of Kota came out in protest as soon as the trailer was launched.

The trailer of Mardaani 2 which was launched on Thursday has Rani Mukherjee in leading role. It shows Rani as a no-nonsense cop Shivani Shivaji Roy who is on a hunt for a rapist who is targeting girls in the city of Kota. The movie’s trailer reads that the story is based on true events.

After meeting with the residents of the city and hearing there concern the Lok Sabha speaker spoke to media and said that the issue will be discussed with concerned people. The protestors are demanding removal of the city’s name from the film.
The Rani Mukherjee starrer thriller drama is set to hit the screen on December 13th.
