Delhi Airport Introduces Digital E-Arrival Card for Foreign Travellers
Starting October 1, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) will roll out a new E-Arrival Card system for international passengers. This digital initiative, launched under the Bureau of Immigration, aims to streamline the entry process for foreigners while supporting the government’s Digital India mission.
A Seamless and Eco-Friendly Travel Experience
With this new facility, foreign travellers landing at Delhi Airport will no longer need to fill out paper-based arrival forms. Instead, they can submit their details online before reaching India. This move is expected to cut down waiting times at immigration counters, reduce queues, and make the overall arrival process more convenient.
Beyond efficiency, the system also supports sustainability by significantly cutting the use of paper. Several major international airports across Asia, including those in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and South Korea, already use similar digital arrival systems—placing Delhi firmly on the global map for smart airports.
Integration with Other Digital Travel Initiatives
The launch of the E-Arrival Card follows the introduction of the Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) earlier this year in June, which provides quicker immigration clearance for Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders. Together, both initiatives highlight the government’s focus on offering a modern, hassle-free, and secure travel experience.
According to DIAL’s CEO, this step reflects India’s commitment to world-class airport facilities and passenger convenience while promoting eco-friendly practices. Faster clearances and smoother processing are set to redefine the arrival experience for international visitors.
How Travellers Can Access the E-Arrival Card
Passengers can easily complete their arrival forms online through multiple official platforms:
- Bureau of Immigration website
- Indian Visa online portal
- “Su-Swagatam” mobile app
- Delhi Airport’s official website
Travellers have the option to submit their details up to three days in advance of their arrival, ensuring a seamless immigration process once they land.
