After people ignored social distancing norms at the liquor shops in Delhi, the Delhi government has launched an e-token system to ensure social distancing is maintained while buying liquor.
The initiative, as per the Delhi government, will also encourage people to avoid long queues by applying for an e-token.
Here is how it works.
- People can choose to apply for a token through the link ‘https://www.qtoken.in/’
- A user will be asked to provide their name and phone number and an e-token will be sent to them once they provide the mandatory.
- Tokens will be also be issued for those standing in queues, as per a Delhi government order

The token’s motive is to specify a person’s chance to buy liquor so they don’t hurry and barge into queues to buy liquor. The people will require to furnish the address of liquor shop in their area along with their mobile number and other details while applying for e-token on the web link.
The government will also issue tokens to people standing in the queue to cut waiting time. Marshals will also be deployed to check social distancing is followed.
