“Mohalla Bus Sewa,” a project of the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), has small electric buses with a length of nine meters that are intended to provide last-mile connectivity.
“Route MS-1,” an experimental bus route, was introduced between Akshardham Metro Station and Mayur Vihar Phase-3 Paper Market in East Delhi to offer commuters a convenient and environmentally responsible mode of transportation.
With a seating capacity of 23, these little buses are made to work through crowded spaces. Women will have 25% of the seats set aside for them, and they will ride for free, just as on regular lines.
Route MS-1 stops at important places such as Ghazipur Thana, Gharoli Extension, Chand Cinema, Kalyanpuri Crossing, Kondli Mod, Rajbir Colony Pul Number-1, Mayur Vihar Phase-1 Metro Station, and other Trilokpuri blocks.
These routes emphasise important residential and business nodes to improve commuter convenience and local connectedness.
The fare structure will be implemented in three phases: Mayur Vihar Phase-1 Metro Station to Rajbir Colony Pul Number-1, Mayur Vihar Phase-3 Paper Market, and Akshardham Metro Station to Trilokpuri-13 Block.
The Delhi government intends to add more than 2,000 Mohalla buses to this project, demonstrating its long-term commitment to environmentally friendly urban transportation.
