Breaking a record of over a century Delhi is likely to experience its coldest day in the last 119 years. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Monday can be the coldest December day in the past 119 years in Delhi.
The Delhi-NCR region which is freezing from cold has been put on two days alert till Monday by the IMD. As per the latest updates from IMD it has found some unusually cold trends across various places in the capital.
The temperature at Safdarjung at 1430 IST was recorded at 9.4 degrees Celsius. Similarly, Ayanagar and Lodi road area recoded a temperature of 7.8 degrees Celcius and 8.4 degrees Celcius respectively at the same time.

The earlier lowest ever temperature recorded at Safdarjung in the month of December since 1901 was 11.3-degree Celcius which was recorded on 27th December 1997. As per IMD, this record is all but sure to be broken today.
