The RapidX train from Sahibabad to Duhai was supposed to be launched on June 30, but the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has yet to be informed of the date. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has already finished preparing for RapidX operation in the priority sector. In reality, the Metro Rail Safety Commissioner has given approval for the priority project.
However, because of the non-fixation of the inauguration date, the priority segment from Sahibabad to Dubai is being missed. If it had been launched on a certain date, this would have been the first big project to begin for the general public.
The NCRTC set March 2023 as the first deadline for RapidX operation on the first priority segment. Later, the deadline for the same was extended.
The RapidX will run in the priority sector from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., with a 30-second break every 15 minutes. This 17-kilometer route will link Sahibabad and Duhai with four elevated stations. The train will take only 17 minutes to get from Sahibabad to Duhai. Currently, taking public transportation from Sahibabad to Duhai takes more than an hour.
There will be five stations in this section: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot. RapidX Sahibad to Duhai is the first priority segment of an 82-kilometer public Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut line.
