For the 4th time within a span of 1 month Delhi-NCR region is rocked by earthquake tremors. This was the 2nd time in the month of May that earthquake tremors hit the region. However, this earthquake was quite low in intensity.
The earthquake of a magnitude of 2.2 on the Richter Scale hit 13km NW of New Delhi today at 11:28 am, as per National Center for Seismology (NCS). The earthquake was detected around the Pitampura area of New Delhi.
A medium-intensity earthquake of magnitude 3.4 hit Delhi with the epicenter near Wazirpur earlier this month. This was preceded by the tremors on April 12 and April 13 of magnitude 3.5 and 2.7, respectively, This 4th earthquake comes after the region was hit by an unexpected hailstorm yesterday.
