Delhi Residents Can Settle Pending Traffic Challans on September 13
Delhi residents will soon get a chance to clear their pending traffic challans with ease as the National Lok Adalat is being organized across the city on September 13, 2025. The initiative, announced by the traffic police, is aimed at helping people avoid long legal procedures and settle their dues in a hassle-free manner.
Lok Adalat Schedule and Centers
The Lok Adalat will take place between 10 AM and 4 PM across all major court complexes, including Patiala House, Karkardooma, Rouse Avenue, Tis Hazari, Dwarka, Saket, and Rohini. Citizens are encouraged to make use of this opportunity to resolve their outstanding challans and notices without going through the burden of lengthy court hearings.
To participate, individuals must carry essential documents such as their vehicle’s registration certificate (RC), a valid ID proof, and a copy of the challan or notice. All challans can be downloaded directly from the Delhi Traffic Police website. Starting from 10 AM on Monday, downloads will be available with a cap of 60,000 per day, allowing up to 180,000 challans to be fetched until September 13.
Previous Settlements and Benefits
The Lok Adalat system has already proven effective in past sessions. The last one, held on May 10, cleared a large number of challans, while another session in March successfully resolved over 1.5 lakh challans valued at more than Rs 400 crore, with traffic dispute settlements worth Rs 1.7 crore.
Through this platform, citizens can settle traffic-related fines quickly and at a minimal cost. For private vehicles, the maximum number of challans is limited to seven (two challans and five notices), whereas commercial vehicles are allowed up to two challans or notices.
This move offers Delhiites a practical solution to regularize their traffic records and avoid unnecessary penalties while easing the burden on the judicial system.
