PM Modi launched the Vande Bharat Express train on January 6, 2024, which runs from Delhi to Amritsar. With thousands of visitors to the Golden Temple each year, the Amritsar-Delhi Vande Bharat Express was introduced to improve communication between the two cities. The central government has placed a strong emphasis on improving connections among the country’s large cities in the recent past.
Travellers in the two cities will find the Vande Bharat Express to be a quicker option even if the Shatabdi Express travels the same route. The new Vande Bharat Express will travel the same route in 5 hours and 30 minutes, compared to the Shatabdi Express which takes more than 6 hours travel time.
Travellers should be aware that the 38th Vande Bharat Express train in India, train number 22488/22487 Amritsar – Delhi Junction, was launched by Prime Minister Modi via video conference on December 30, 2023, from Ayodhya Dham.
