In an era where the bride’s walking towards the wedding stage during her nuptials garners all the attention, Akash Yadav’s entrance from the “sky” is now on my wedding to-dos.
Also, adding my share of creativity to it, I may ask my groomsmen to catch me before keeping me on the ground. Or maybe jump along with me altogether? Ehh!! let’s leave this topic for some other day.
Talking about the desi groom Akshay, for his wedding with Gaganpreet Singh in Mexico’s Los Cabos, he took the 500 guests by surprise after he dived from an aircraft, to mark his arrival to the ‘baraat’.
However, a skydive entrance was not something that Akshay had wanted earlier. In an email to The India Express, Akshay said he wanted to arrive on a boat with his friends. However, couldn’t, due to security reasons.

Nevertheless, the same didn’t tamper his hopes for a ‘hatke’ wedding entry as he considered the aerial route.
“I smiled and looked at my planners and said ‘if I can’t come by sea then I’ll come by sky’. They laughed and when it quieted down, I said, ‘No, I’m serious’. And the rest is history,” Yadav said.
Yadav also shared how worried her wife was despite being aware of the fact that he isn’t skydiving for the first time.
The photographer, responsible for documenting the wedding also shared how difficult it was to capture him.
“We had to coordinate the dive, with not only us being ready but also the 500 Indians during the baraat. Plus, remember, we had no contact with the groom after he took the plunge. So we literally were left to look up and anticipate his jump,” the photographer told The Indian Express adding that he had never seen something like that
