As the visiting Australian team handed the number 1 ODI team India a crushing 10 wicket defeat yesterday netizens made “Dhoni” trend on Twitter as they missed the former Indian captain in the blues.
The Aussies showed a spirited all-round show and wrapped Indian innings at 255 within the allotted 50 overs. The second innings was all Warner-Finch show who scored century to get the team home in the 38th over. After the defeat fans were left missing the class of captain cool.
Dhoni who was last seen in the Indian jersey in the World Cup semi-final against New Zealand has since then not played a single game for India. The former Indian captain is also not picked for the T20Is in upcoming New Zealand tour.
Earlier after the World Cup Dhoni went to Join his unit in the “Territorial Army” and also served in the sensitive Kashmir region for some days. Dhoni who is a Lieutenant colonel in Territorial Army said that don’t ask him anything till January, when asked about his return to the team.

However, the selectors have given a clear message through their decision that they are looking beyond Dhoni in building India’s team for the upcoming assignments. With the ODI team to be picked for New Zealand tour up next the return of Dhoni is unlikely anytime soon.
