Popular messaging app WhatsApp was down last night and it remained so for hours. The users reported multiple glitches in the app. Several features of the popular chat app were affected due to the glitch. Certain users also reported not being able to register or log in to a new installation of WhatsApp.

Other glitches included uses being not able to see the last seen status of other users or whether other users were online or not. WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo said that the WhatsApp was experiencing serious issues for all their platforms. This is was due to server-side problems.

The error is reported to have appeared first at around 8:30 pm IST on June 19. WhatsApp has now fixed the error. But by the time the error got fixed the users were all but frustrated by these glitches.
