Disability activist and Polio survivor Kuhu Das was asked to take off her trouser at the Kolkata Airport. The security officer at the airport asked her to take off her calipers to which Das responded that it is not possible without removing the trousers. All this was certainly for security-checking purposes.

Another activist Jeeja Ghosh who has cerebral palsy was told she could not fly without an escort on board. Though after the protest the two activists were allowed to take their flight bound to Delhi.

Both the activists said that they felt “insulted and humiliated”, by this act of inconvenience from the side of authorities.
