First Reported by ANI, the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services in Odisha, in a letter, has warned its junior level officers of disciplinary action if they are caught addressing their senior officers as ”bhai”.

“Junior level officers of this directorate and in field offices are not maintaining office decorum in dealing with their superiors even in presence of Higher Authority. For example, the technical officers are calling ‘Bhai’ to their senior officers like SDVO/CDVO & Joint Director level-I,” director Ratnakar wrote in a circular.

The direction was passed after the department’s director noticed that some officers were failing to maintain proper decorum while dealing with their seniors even with higher authority in their vicinity.
