Don’t Miss Out: EPFO Extends UAN Activation Deadline for ELI Scheme!
If you haven’t activated your Universal Account Number (UAN) yet, here’s some good news! The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has once again extended the deadline to activate your UAN and link your Aadhaar with your bank account. Now, you have until June 30, 2025 to complete this process and make sure you don’t miss out on important benefits under the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme.
What is UAN and Why Do You Need It?
- The UAN is a unique 12-digit number given to every salaried employee covered under EPFO.
- It acts as one key for all your Provident Fund (PF) accounts, even if you switch jobs.
- With an active UAN, you can check your PF balance, download your passbook, submit withdrawal or transfer requests, and update your details—all online, anytime.
Why Is This Deadline Important?
- The ELI Scheme, announced in the Union Budget, offers financial benefits to eligible employees.
- To receive these benefits, your UAN must be active and linked to your Aadhaar and bank account.
- Missing this deadline could mean missing out on extra financial support.
How to Activate Your UAN in Simple Steps
- Visit the EPFO Member Portal.
- Click on “Activate UAN” under the Important Links section.
- Enter your UAN, Aadhaar number, name, date of birth, and your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Agree to the Aadhaar OTP verification.
- Click “Get Authorization PIN” and enter the OTP you receive on your mobile.
- After successful verification, you’ll get a password on your registered mobile number.
What Are the Benefits of the ELI Scheme?
- The ELI Scheme is designed to encourage employment and offers direct monetary benefits.
- There are three categories under the scheme, but all require your UAN to be active and your bank account to be linked with Aadhaar.
- Once you complete these steps, you become eligible for the scheme’s financial perks.
