An elephant nicknamed ‘Laden’ after ex-Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden went on a killing spree as he trampled five people to death in 36 hours in Assam’s Rongjuli forest. The elephant had earlier destroyed paddy fields in the state of Assam.

Forest officials are using drones to survey and track the elephant and also released a picture of him. Assam Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya said an eight-person committee including wildlife experts would decide what to do with Laden.
