On Sunday, Elon Musk gave X.com a new identity. The site X.com, which Co-Founded by Elon Musk, Harris Fricker, Christopher Payne, and Ed Ho in 1999, will now redirect users to Twitter.com. Elon later added that the X logo would become life later.
X.com to Redirect to Twitter.com
This significant change comes hours after Elon announced that the platform aims to change the Twitter logo from the legendary blue bird to X.
Since the massive $44 Billion deal, this is the most significant change Twitter will get now.
Moreover, Elon is trying to make this change successful worldwide as soon as Monday, he said in a Twitter thread.
“And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds”, wrote Musk on Twitter.
“The change isn’t surprising given Musk’s long history with the name X”, says Allen Adamson, co-founder, Metaforce.
“Buying Twitter is an accelerant to creating X, the everything app,” said the Twitter CEO.
Furthermore, Space Exploration Technologies Corp, Elon’s Spacecraft engineering company, is also generally called SpaceX. And in 1999, Musk founded a startup named X.com, a financial service company now called PayPal.
“Not sure what subtle clues gave it away, but I like the letter X,” the billionaire Tweeted.
“It’s an exceptionally rare thing – in life or business – that you get a second chance to make another big impression,” said Linda Yaccarino after a few hours.
Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. X will go further, transforming the global town square, further said.
