The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has begun the process of depositing interest into provident fund accounts for the fiscal year 2022-23, according to reports, mentioning a Press Information Bureau (PIB) announcement dated November 1, 2023. EPFO members may expect an interest rate of 8.15 per cent on their PF accounts throughout this period.
Employees Provident Fund (EPF) members may now quickly check their account balances via SMS, missed calls, the UMANG app, and the EPFO website. Here’s how it’s done:
Using UMANG App
- Get the UMANG app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
- To use EPFO services, you must first register on the app.
- Select ‘View Passbook’ under the ‘Service’ part of the EPFO option.
- Select ‘ Employee-centric service’.
- An OTP will be provided to the EPFO-registered mobile number.
- Once the OTP is entered, users can access their EPF passbook and check the balance.
Using EPFO Portal
- Go to www.epfindia.gov.in to access the EPFO website.
- Select ‘For Employees’ from the ‘Our Services’ drop-down menu.
- To access your account details, select ‘Member Passbook’ from the ‘Services’ menu.
Using SMS Service
- Registered customers can obtain their current contribution and PF balance data by sending an SMS to 7738299899 with the message “EPFOHO UAN ENG” (change ‘ENG’ with the first three characters of your desired language, for example, ‘MAR’ for Marathi).
By Using Missed Call Service
- Make a missed call from your registered mobile phone to 011-22901406. Ensure that your UAN is connected to your PAN, Aadhaar, and bank account information. This service is provided at no cost. These approaches make it easy for EPF members to keep track of their account balances and transactions.
