Exciting Update: More Rice and Wheat for Large Families on Ration Cards!

Great news for ration card holders in Bengal! The state government has announced a new plan to provide extra rice and wheat to families with more than ten members. This means bigger families will now get additional food grains to support their needs.

What’s New?

Currently, families holding ration cards receive about 35 kg of rice and wheat every month at no cost. Under this scheme, priority and special priority families get 5 kg of rice and 5 kg of wheat each month. These cards mainly help economically weaker families.

But now, the government is taking a step further. They are working on a plan to offer more food grains to families with over ten members. Two ideas are being considered:

  • Splitting large families into smaller groups for ration distribution.
  • Including some family members under different ration schemes.

These proposals aim to ensure that every member of a big family gets enough food grains. The final decision is still in progress, and the food department is actively working on the best way to implement this.

What Does This Mean for You?

  • More rice and wheat for large families.
  • Better support for economically backward households.
  • Updates and improvements to ration card management for smoother service.

This new initiative shows the government’s commitment to helping families get the food they need. If you have a ration card and belong to a large family, you can expect more benefits soon. Keep an eye out for official updates to know when these changes will take effect.
