Deepika Padukone is employed under the MGNREGA scheme? Well, it could be a thing if you happen to believe these fake job cards found in Madhya Pradesh recently.
A number of fake Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act cards were seized recently carrying the name likes Sonu Shantilal, Manoj Dubey, etc. with a glamorous pictures of Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez among other celebs.
The fake job cards were used to claim guaranteed wages from Peeparkheda Naka village in the Jhirnia panchayat. Under the MGNREGA scheme, anyone who applies for the wage card gets 100 days guaranteed employment and is paid ₹182 for a day’s work.

The scheme is beneficial for not only wage workers but also farmers who look out for jobs after the harvest season.
Reports claim that the sarpanch, secretary, and assistant of Jhirnya district Piparkheda Naka Panchayat have used these fake cards to claim wages.

In one instance, a card with Monu Dubey as the name and a picture of actress Deepika Padukone on it was used to withdraw ₹30,000. The actual Monu Dubey, when enquired, said that he didn’t even know that the money has been withdrawn in his name. Dubey added that he had not worked under the scheme.
Another beneficiary named Sonu had a picture of Jacqueline Fernandez on it. As many as 10 celebs had their pictures on these fake cards.

The matter came to light when the beneficiaries didn’t receive the money and complained about it. As of now, an inquiry has been ordered.
