A student back in Kerala from China’s Wuhan has been tested positive of the Novel Coronavirus that has already killed 170 people. The information was shared by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday.
“One positive case of Novel Coronavirus patient, of a student studying in Wuhan University, has been reported in Kerala. The patient has tested positive for Novel Coronavirus and is in isolation in the hospital,” the Union Health Ministry said.

The ministry has said that the “patient is stable and is being closely monitored”.
As per reports, over 400 people are being observed in Kerala under the suspicion of the virus. Cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru are also monitoring people to identify and curb any chances of the exposure of the virus and rein it before it spreads.
The health ministry had also asked people who have a travel history to China since January 1 to report at the nearest health facility.

The world still awaits proper medication to curb the spread of the virus as it is something new to the world. Scientists hope to be testing the first possible vaccines in three months’ time. China is testing the HIV drug Aluvia as a treatment.
