The first plea against the Ayodhya Verdict, in which the Supreme Court held that the entire 2.77-acre disputed land in Ayodhya should be given to deity Ram Lalla, has been filed in the court. Maulana Syed Ashhad Rashidi, legal heir of original Ayodhya land dispute has filed a review petition in the Supreme Court.

Notably, this is the first plea filed against the Ayodhya Verdict. Earlier Sunni Waqf Board had said that although they believe that the verdict is flawed, they will refrain from filing a plea because that would only “create a deep divide in our society and will vitiate the atmosphere again”.
