In Delhi-NCR, heavy fog caused troubles for several rail trains. A statement released by the Indian Railways stated that heavy fog caused 26 trains to arrive late in the nation’s capital. Low visibility caused by the fog affected train operations in the Delhi-NCR area and other northern states.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the cold wave still holds strong over Delhi and the National Capital Region. The lowest temperature recorded in the area was 7.3 degrees, while the highest temperature is predicted to hover around 15 degrees.
According to the Met Office, the national capital will continue to struggle with fog for the next two days before conditions are expected to improve. It further said that Delhi and the surrounding area would probably see a cold wave for the following two to three days.
In addition, several other northern states, such as Madhya Pradesh, Tripura, and Jammu, had considerable fog this morning, while Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, and Bihar are all struggling with heavy fog.
Low Visibility Due To Foggy Conditions
There was limited visibility due to widespread thick fog in many areas. Safdarjung in Delhi and Palam in Palam recorded 500 and 700 meters of visibility, respectively. There have been reports of visibility levels of 25 meters in Bikaner, 50 meters at Jaisalmer, 50 meters at Kota, and 50 meters at Jaipur in Rajasthan. Bihar encountered 25 meters of visibility in Gaya, 25 meters in Purnea, and 200 meters in Patna.
