Team India’s former Captain and stylish left-hand batsmen Sourav Ganguly formally took over the charge as 39th President of cricket’s apex governing body in India on Wednesday. Ganguly is so far the biggest name from the sport to head the BCCI.

The BCCI general body meeting on Wednesday made official that Sourav would be it’s President. Ganguly’s appointment would end the reign of the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA).

CoA headed by former CAG Vinod Rai was serving as BCCI’s chief for the past three years in absence of the President.
