As per Pakistan media, President Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday was handed death sentence doe his involvement in a high-treason case. A three-judge bench of a special court in Pakistan held Musharraf guilty for suspending the Constitution and imposing emergency rule in the country between November 3 and December 15, 2007.

During the emergency, he assured no privately owned firm air any content. In 2014, he was indicted and the prosecution gave evidence against him. However, later in March 2016, he left for Dubai citing health issues. Thereafter, he has been staying in Dubai and was declared an absconder after he failed to appear in the court.
