While whole world is battling the ‘COVID-19‘ crisis Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro is not in a mood to take it seriously. The President urged to roll back lockdown measures that are taken in wake of COVID-19.
“We must return to normality,” he said. “The few states and city halls should abandon their scorched-earth policies.” Bolsonaro has termed coronavirus as a “fantasy” and a “small flu”. His statement has attracted wide criticism from Brazilians. After his Tuesday night address, people banged pots and pans in a traditional form of protest in Sao Paulo and Brasilia.

Brazil so far has reported over 2,000 cases of COVID-19 with 46 deaths. Country’s major cities Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo have been bought under restrictions by the respective Mayors. Globally the virus has now affected over 4 lakh people.
