How Much Gold Is Allowed for Indians in Dubai?
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs states that Indian tourists who remain in Dubai for more than six months after paying tax are permitted to bring up to one kilogram of gold in their luggage. Regarding how we may bring gold back from Dubai, Indians are permitted to transport gold bars and coins.
The Duty-Free Gold Limit: What is it?
- Men are exempt from customs duties when they carry 20 grams of gold, up to a maximum value of ₹50,000, in the form of gold bars and coins from Dubai to India.
- Women are not subject to customs duties when they carry 40 grams of gold, up to a maximum value of ₹1 lakh, from Dubai to India for personal use in the form of jewellery, gold bars, or gold coins.
- For customs officers to verify, all returning travellers with gold must have the appropriate paperwork proving their purchase.
