While it is facing the heat with close to 10,000 cases each day India got to see a positive. As India is witnessing an exponential rise in the number of cases putting it ahead in Italy the number of recovered patients is also rising. And for the 1st time since the pandemic, those recovered surpassed the active number of cases.
As per the latest data India now has 1,40,979 recovered patients. While the active cases in the country are 1,37,769. The total number of cases in the country are 2,86,870. The overall recovery rate stands at about 49% as of now. India now only has only 5 nations ahead of it. For 2nd day in a row today, India has the recovered number higher than the active cases.
The U.S., Brazil, Russia, the United Kingdom, and Spain are placed higher than India in terms of cases. Meanwhile, Mumbai has crossed the center of the outbreak Wuhan in terms of the number of cases. It now has over 51,000 cases.

Timely detection of coronavirus cases and stringent lockdown measures were the two reasons behind this high number of recovered patients, said the health ministry. Globally, total number of COVID-19 cases has surpassed 72 lakh while death toll has crossed 4 lakh.
