For flyers, good news! By offering easy metro check-in options, Air India has improved the travel experience for its international passengers. To facilitate check-in and luggage drop services at two metro stations in the nation’s capital, the airline, owned by the Tata Group, has teamed with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi.
International travellers on Air India may now check-in and drop off their bags at the Shivaji Stadium and New Delhi metro stations in Delhi. The Airport Express Line (AEL) of DMRC includes both metro stations. On the other hand, this facility will be open from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Air India’s Latest Move: Journey To Be More Convenient
The passenger’s journey will be much more convenient thanks to this new effort. It would provide travellers with an affordable choice and aid in traffic management at Delhi Airport, improving the traveller experience.
Additionally, this will provide out-of-town visitors with the opportunity to tour the city without checking bags. This program was limited to domestic flight travel up until now. The travel experience will be more efficient and seamless thanks to this new partnership, with metro trips to Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3 lasting less than 20 minutes.
International Passengers’ Baggage Drop Services and Check-in
For domestic flights, check-in can be completed 12–2 hours before departure, and for international flights, 4–2 hours before departure. Following check-in, the luggage is safely loaded into the aircraft using a state-of-the-art automated system developed by Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
The Airport Express Line (AEL) of Delhi Metro
