Tech giant Google has announced that it has canceled its biggest event of the year I/O developer conference 2020. This comes after the tech firm decided that its Cloud Next event in April would be a digital-only conference. Recently Facebook has also canceled its F8 developer conference.
The link to all this is the ‘fear of coronavirus‘. The deadly virus which has been killing thousands across the globe has now taken down major events. In the sports domain events like Tokyo Olympics 2020 are also under the threat of being postponed. Google’s I/O developer conference was scheduled to be held from May 12 to 14.

“Due to concerns around the coronavirus (COVID-19), and in accordance with health guidance from the CDC, WHO, and other health authorities, we have decided to cancel the physical Google I/O event at Shoreline Amphitheatre”, said Google in an official statement.
