After repeated incidents of attack on health workers amidst COVID-19 government has taken a strict step. The government on Wednesday bought an ordinance to protect the ‘Corona Warriors’. The ordinance brings in strict punishment for those found guilty.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday informed about the ordinance. As per the ordinance, any attack on health workers will be a cognizable and non-bailable offense. Those found guilty of attack on health workers would face imprisonment of up to 7 years.

Along with the 7 years, punishment the ordinance calls for a heavy fine to be imposed. A fine of up to ₹5 lakh would be imposed on guilty. The ordinance comes at a time when health workers have been attacked by people across the country. This new law would provide much needed restrain to such acts.
