Govt-Mandated Fare Structure to Be Followed by Ola, Uber, Rapido in Pune Starting May 1

Similar to autorickshaws, taxi trips in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, and Baramati that are booked through Ola, Uber, and Rapido will begin charging tariffs based only on Maharashtra government-approved rates from May 1.

The Indian Gig Workers Front verified this action, according to TOI, with its president, Keshav Kshirsagar, saying that the decision was made at a recent gathering of taxi drivers.

Which Rates Have Changed?

The first 1.5 km costs Rs 37, and each further mile costs Rs 25. Therefore, you would have to pay about Rs 249.50 for a 10-kilometre trip. At the moment, a comparable journey typically costs around Rs 175 (non-surge). For instance, a 10-kilometre UberGo trip from Ghole Road to Salunke Vihar Road cost Rs 219 on Friday at 9 PM.

Check The Fare On The New Website

We are launching a new website, www.onlymeter.in, to make things simple and clear.

This is how it operates:

  • A brief instruction and a QR code will be shown inside each taxi.
  • Visit the website after your ride and input the distance you covered.
  • Based on the government-approved tariff, the website will display the precise fare you must pay.

In Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, over 45,000 taxis already use these app-based services. They must all take by the new regulation.
