Secure ‘Shivling’, Don’t Interfere In Namaz
Yesterday, the Supreme court questioned the Varanasi Administration where the Shivling was discovered in the Gyanvapi Mosque in the city of Uttar Pradesh.
This question was asked by the Supreme Court to the administration at the hearing of a petition filed by the committee of the Mosque. Committee sought from the court to halt the survey video of the mosque complex.
Justice DY Chandrachud asked, “Where exactly was the ‘Shivling’ found?”. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said, “We haven’t seen the report,” while representing the Uttar Pradesh Government. He aimed at the time till tomorrow to come back with further details.
Mr Mehta told the court that the Shivling found was sealed to avoid any disturbance to law and order. No interference was assured while the people offered Namaz at the mosque. He said the Shivling was reportedly said to be found in the pond used for a purification ritual called Wazoo.
During the hearing yesterday, the Muslim pleaders asked the court why the court ordered to seal the pond area if the survey report of the complex is still not submitted yet.
They told the court, “How did the court proceed based on the submission of the other party and seal the place? Look at the way the orders are passed.”
