China’s hiding tactics of the pandemic and its aggression in the South China sea which had already angered the U.S and the world is fueled by the act on LAC. The U.S. who is punishing China through trade war has come hard on its aggression at LAC. The Secretary of state (the equivalent of foreign minister in India) of the U.S. Mike Pompeo has called it a ‘Rogue State’.
For the unknown, a rogue state is one who breaks international law and poses a threat to the security of other nations. Pompeo who expressed condolence on the sacrifice made by the 20 Indian soldiers came harsh on China. The communist party of China (CPC) has been under the hammer of the U.S. The dragon nation is also responsible for a state-sponsored cyberattack on Australia.
“The PLA (People’s Liberation Army) has escalated border tensions with India, the world’s most populous democracy. It’s militarizing the South China Sea and illegally claiming more territory there, threatening vital sea lanes“, said Pompeo. He made the remarks while talking in an online conference on democracy in Copenhagen, Denmark. He also talked about atrocities by China against Uyghurs Muslims.
“General Secretary Xi Jinping has green-lighted a brutal campaign of repression against Chinese Muslims, a human rights violation on a scale we haven’t seen since World War II. Now, the PLA has escalated border tensions with India”, he added. He further called for a collective response from the world’s major countries to what Beijing was doing. Notably, the China has been on the radar of the U.S for their dirty geopolitics for quite some time. The pandemic has given the U.S. an open space for action.
