A day after Irrfan Khan breathed his last breath in Mumbai, now Rishi Kapoor also passed away on April 30. The veteran was admitted to the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday owing to health concerns.
The news was confirmed by Amitabh Bachchan on Twitter. “He’s GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed !” wrote Amitabh.
Rishi Kapoor had cancer and was away from the country for a long time for treatment only to return to India in September 2019.
His health hasn’t been the best since his return to India. The actor was admitted to the hospital in quick succession in February. Amid speculations about his health, he had been hospitalised in New Delhi in early February.
It is begin said that his wife, Neetu Kapoor, was by his side during the last moments. He had forever wanted to see his son Ranbir Kapoor get married.
He was part of hit films such as Amar Akbar Anthony, Laila Majnu, Rafoo Chakkar, Sargam, Karz, Bol Radha Bol and others. In the later stage of his career, he was seen in films such as Kapoor and Sons, D-Day, Mulk and 102 Not Out.
