Hyderabad temperatures will increase remarkably in the coming days. The India Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts in the city as the temperature will likely cross 40 degrees Celsius for the next coming 5 days.
According to several predictions from the meteorological department, Monday will be the start of the rise in temperature, and will this rise in temperature continue till Friday.
Many regions of Telangana including Hyderabad will be on yellow alert from Monday to Wednesday to inform the people about the situation and Thursday and Friday will be orange alert for the city.
There are very high chances of heatwaves as the temperature is likely to stay between 40 and 45 degrees. A heatwave is declared when the temperature increases by 5 degrees above the average temperature. The city recorded the highest temperature was 37.7 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Orange alerts were issued on Monday for many districts which include Jayshankar Bhupalpally, Karimnagar, Rajanna Siricilla, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Khammam, and Bhadradri Kothagudem.
Worldwide weather observations indicate that an El Nino climatic change associated with major heat waves is likely to drop this summer. This summer Telangana will experience the most hotter summer and are more likely to experience drought if El Nino takes place. May is predicted to be the hottest month of the summer, with temperatures crossing 40 degrees Celsius.
Indian meteorological department advised people to keep hydrated throughout the summer and try avoiding direct exposure to the sun, especially between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. They also advised people to wear lightweight clothing, and loose cotton clothes and also advised the people to cover their heads while going out.
