2019 is about to end and with two big-budget releases ( Dabangg 3 and Good Newzz) lined up the Bollywood is going to set the tone for the year to come. If 2019 saw big hits like Gully Boy, Kabir Singh, Super 30, Mission Mangal, Uri: The Surgical Strike etc then 2020 promises to be even more exciting.
If you are a movie-buff then some good content big-ticket releases would give you many reasons to hit the theaters. To ease things out for you here we bring the list of big-ticket Bollywood releases of 2020 that you shouldn’t miss.
January
The year would begin with a big clash on Bollywood in the very first month. Ajay Devgan’s period drama Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior would have a face-off with Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak which spells the story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.

Both the movies would hit the theater on the second Friday of 2020, that is 10th January. The month would see another clash just before the Republic day weekend where Remo D’Souza’s dance flick Street Dancer would be pitted against Kangana Ranaut’s sports drama Panga.
February
February is generally the month of romance based movies thanks to the valentine’s day that falls on 14th February. 2020 would have a romance based movie releasing in February but it would not be a simple hero-heroine love story but a romantic thriller Malang.

Malang would star Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani in lead and is scheduled for a February 7th release. The month would see another romance movie but in a romcom face. Ayushmann Khurrana’s Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan which is a spin-off his 2017 hit Shubh Mangal Saavdhan would hit the theaters on 21st February.
The month would not go without clash as Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan would face Vicky Kaushal’s Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship releasing on the same date.
March
March would be set up with Tiger Shroff’s popular action franchise Baaghi’s third installment. Baaghi 3 would release on 6th March ahead of the extended Holi weekend.
Apart from Baaghi 3 another sequel that would hit the theaters in the month of March would be Angrezi Medium. The Irrfan Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer comedy-drama is a sequel to popular comedy flick Hindi Medium. The movie would release on 20th March.

The first quarter of 2020 would end with Rohit Shetty’s most awaited cop based action drama Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif on lead role. The movie is believed to have links with Rohit’s other cop based directional ventures Singham and Simmba.
April
The month of April would start with Ranveer Singh’s sports drama bringing back the memory of India’s first title triumph of the Cricket World Cup under Kapil Dev in 1983. The movie titled 83 would see Ranvir essaying the role of Kapil Dev.
83 is scheduled for an April 10th release. The month would have one more big release that would see Big on the screen for the first time in 2020. Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer comedy-drama Gulabo Sitabo would release on 17th April. This would be followed by Bachchan’s second release in 7 days Chehre.
The mystery thriller would also star Emraan Hashmi and Krystle D’Souza in the lead and would release on 24th April.
May
The month of May would open up with Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali starer comedy flick Coolie No.1. The movie would release on 1st May. This would be followed by the first box office clash of the month on 8th May.
Parineeti Chopra’s mystery thriller The Girl on the Train would face Vidya Balan starer Biopic of Indian human calculator Shakuntala Devi. The month would end with a mega clash. Akshay Kumar’s horror-comedy Laxmmi Bomb would face Salman Khan’s Radhe which is a sequel of his hit movie Wanted. Both the movies would release on 22nd May.
June
June can be said as a quiet month in terms of big releases as only two movies would hit the floor this month. First would be the multi-starer gangster drama starring John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi Mumbai Saga. The movie is slated for June 19th release.
Next would be the biopic of former Tamil Nadu Cheif Minister and actress J. Jayalalithaa titled Thalaivi starring Kangana Ranaut in lead. The movie hits the theaters on 26th June.
July
The month of monsoon would be the month of sequels in 2020. Two big franchisee would see there sequels after a long time. First would be the sequel of 1991 hit Sadak, titled Sadak 2. The movie would star the cast from the first installment along with Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead.
The movie is scheduled for July 10th release. The second sequel of the month would be Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 staring Kartik Aryan. The Akshay Kumar starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa’s sequel would release on 31st July.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 would not go without a tough competition as Ranbir Kapoor lead multi-starer Shamshera would release on the same day.
August
August is a month of Independence and thus, can’t go without a patriotic flick hitting the screens. 2020 would be no different as Ajay Devgan starrer war-action drama Bhuj: The Pride of India would be released on 14th August.
Bhuj would face a clash with John Abraham’s action drama Attack releasing on the same day. The month would end with Shahid Kapoor’s official remake of the Telugu film titled Jersey which would be a sports drama. Jersey would release on 28th August.
September
The last month of 2020’s third quarter has so far only one big release listed. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s adoption of Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai titled Gangubai Kathiawadi would hit the screens in September.

The movie would star Alia Bhatt in the title role where she would essay the character of brothel owner and matriarch Gangubai Kathiawadi.
October
October would begin with a triple clash on Gandhi Jayanti. Vicky Kaushal’s Sardar Udham Singh, John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate 2 and Farhan Akhtar’s Toofan would release on the same day.
While Sardar Udham Singh is a biopic of famous revolutionary leader who killed Michael O’Dwyer the man behind Jallianwala Bagh massacre, Satyameva Jayate 2 would be the sequel of anti-corruption drama Satyameva Jayate.
Farhan Akhtar’s Toofan is a sports-based drama and would star Mrunal Thakur, Isha Talwar, Paresh Rawal in lead role. So, far these three movies are slated to hit the theater in the month of October.
November
November would mark the debut of Miss World Manushi Chillar in Bollywood opposite Akshay Kumar. The big Diwali release Prithviraj would be the biopic of the famous medieval era king Prithviraj Chauhan. The movie would release on 13th November.

Next in the month would be a sport biographical film starring Ajay Devgan titled sport biographical film staring Ajay Devgan titled Maidaan. Maidaan would release on 27th November.
December
The last month of 2020 would see Amir Khan returning to the big screen after 2 years. His comedy-drama Laal Singh Chaddha would hit the screens on Christmas. Amir’s return would witness a clash off with Akshay Kumar.
Akshay’s Bachchan Pandey would also hit the theaters on Christmas next year presenting movie lovers a joy-filled end to the year.
