The Ganga Expressway would go across 12 Uttar Pradesh districts.
The Ganga Expressway is a 6 lane expressway that runs over 594 kilometers. It would cost more than Rs 36,200 crore to construct.
Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj are among the cities it will travel through.
It will include a 3.5-kilometer-long runway to let Air Force jets take off and land in an emergency.
Along the Ganga Expressway, an industrial corridor is also being envisaged.
The Expressway was inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s ambition of providing fast-paced connectivity throughout the nation, according to the Prime Minister’s Office. According to the PMO, the Ganga Expressway would promote several sectors like industrial growth, commerce, agriculture, tourism, and so on, as well as the region’s socio-economic development.
It will begin in Meerut near the Bijauli village and terminate in Prayagraj near the Judapur Dandu hamlet. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Ganga Expressway in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, today (December 18, 2021).
It will become Uttar Pradesh’s longest expressway when it is completed, connecting the state’s western and eastern areas.
The foundation stone laying event takes place a month after Prime Minister Modi opened the Purvanchal Expressway in Sultanpur district’s Karwal Kheri. The highway was described as the state government’s and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s “dream project.”
