The World’s first printed Christmas card has been put on display at the Charles Dicken museum in London. Designed by Henry Cole and illustrated by John Callcott Horsley, the card showcases a family of five enjoying wine on Christmas Eve with a message “A merry Christmas and a happy new year to you.”

1,000 such copies of the card were printed out of which only 21 survived. Notably, British inventor Cole was instrumental in setting up the Penny Post letter-delivery system in 1840, which led to the creation of this postcard.
