Meta-owned WhatsApp is making efforts to enhance its desktop user experience. WaBetaInfo, a web portal that tracks all the developments of WhatsApp, has informed us about the upcoming update of the instant messaging app for desktop users. After receiving this update WhatsApp desktop users can choose to hide their online status from others.
New Privacy Update of WhatsApp
In case you forgot, Mark Zuckerberg, a few weeks ago, announced three new privacy updates for its instant messaging platform which are silently exiting from groups, blocking screenshots, and the ability to hide online status from others. And out of these three one is arriving soon, which will let you hide your online status from others. This feature will prove to be very useful when you are in desperate need of hiding from someone. Meanwhile, for android and ios WhatsApp beta users this update is already under development. But desktop users can receive this update very soon, as per WaBetaInfo.
The website has shared a screenshot regarding the update that shows, “the feature may be called as “Last seen and online” with options to control your last seen and when you are online under it. Users will be given two options for who can view their online status- Everyone and Same as last seen. However, if you don’t share your last seen and online with everyone, you won’t be able to see other people’s last seen and online.”
