There is a rising demand for old pension schemes in our country, all thoughts are focusing on reviving the scheme. Employees of different states want the government should consider their demand to restore the old pension scheme. Now with the latest update, the good news has arrived, the Himachal Pradesh government is going to restore the OPS again.
Announcement By Himachal Pradesh On Old Pension Scheme As Per Media Reports
Himachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has made a statement about reviving the scheme. He said, “a committee would be constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh to restore the old pension scheme.”
Jai Ram made this announcement at the Himachal Assembly. The Minister said the Himachal government is working for the benefit of employees.
You should know that the national movement for the Old Pension Scheme organisation consists of more than 14 lakh State and Central government employees. Recently a letter was also written to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman in this regard.

Pending Decision Of Central Government
With respect to this decision, the Central Government is also thinking of considering the demand of employees after such intense efforts to revive the OPS. With this consideration, the expectations of the employees have also risen. Regarding the old scheme, the government has also discussed the matter with the Law Ministry. But the reply is still pending. Once the wait is over that the government will make the final decision.
Actions Of Rajasthan And Jharkhand Government
Earlier on this matter, during the budget 2022 announcements. The Rajasthan Government stated that they are going to implement the OPS for their state employees. This scheme will be in effect for the person appointed in and after 2004.
While the Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has made it clear on Monday, that they are not planning to restore the old pension scheme. He announced this in the assembly session of Vidhan Sabha as a reply to the question of MLA Pradeep Yadav.
