Thailand has simplified travel for Indians with the introduction of the Electronic Visa (e-Visa) system, which is scheduled to go into effect on January 1, 2025. The Thai Embassy in New Delhi released the update on Wednesday, which includes crucial information for applicants.
Key Details of the e-Visa System
Through the official website, https://thaievisa.go.th/, applicants can apply for all kinds of visas using the e-Visa system. Although the embassy has clarified that it will not be held accountable for incomplete applications submitted by agents, applicants may submit their applications directly or through a representative.
What is the e-Visa system?
For Indian nationals, Thailand is introducing an electronic visa system that would streamline the online visa application process.
Benefits of the e-Visa system
Indians will find it simpler to go to Thailand thanks to the e-Visa system, which will streamline the application process and cut down on paperwork.
Offline payment options
The visa cost must be paid offline by anyone applying for a visa. The embassy and the consulates will give specific information on payment choices. It is crucial to remember that there is never a return for visa expenses.
Processing time
Since the Embassy will process visa applications within 14 working days after receiving payment, the e-visa system streamlines and expedites the application procedure.
When will it be possible to use the e-visa system?
Applications for regular passports filed at approved visa processing businesses will remain open until December 16, 2024, for individuals applying under the present system. Applications for official and diplomatic passports must be submitted by December 24, 2024.
60-day Visa exemption
The embassy affirmed that Indian passport holders will continue to be free from the 60-day visa requirement for short-term business and tourism travel until further notice.
The goal of this new approach is to make it easier for Indians who want to travel to Thailand to apply for visas. As the implementation date approaches, more information will be released.
