Important Indian Railway Rule Updates Effective May 15

New railway rules will prohibit public ticket holders from boarding sleeper or AC carriages beginning of May 15. Passengers with regular tickets have difficulties as a result of this adjustment, even though reserved ticket holders benefit.

A major regulatory change will have an immediate effect on passenger travel in India as of May 15. Even with valid tickets, passengers with general tickets will no longer be permitted to board sleeper or AC coaches.

Passengers with confirmed AC and sleeper reservations, who frequently experience discomfort from regular ticket holders’ congestion, will benefit from the new regulation.

This restriction presents a problem for regular ticket holders, who must now stay in their assigned coaches, even if it benefits reserved customers. Indian Railways highlights that by limiting unwanted entrance and enhancing cleanliness, the new regulation seeks to guarantee the security and comfort of reserved passengers.

It is recommended that travellers reserve their tickets and berths in advance. If you have a ticket on the waitlist, think about other travel choices.
