Important Updates: Reliance Jio Phases Out Rs 395 and Rs 1559 Plans

Many customers are surprised by Reliance Jio’s decision to discontinue its wildly popular prepaid plans, which cost Rs 395 and Rs 1559. These plans were a mainstay for customers looking for reasonably priced, long-term data packages since they provided unlimited 5G data with longer validity periods.

The decision of the telecom company is made against the background of a recent substantial pricing increase. Jio has decided to end these programs to reduce the possibility of revenue losses brought on by a spike in recharges before the price hike.

The validity period for the Rs 395 plan was 84 days, whilst the Rs 1559 plan gave 336 days of service. Due to their limitless 5G bandwidth, both plans were a fantastic option for heavy users of data.

Reliance With effect from July 3, 2024, Jio has announced a large rise in its prepaid price options. The action is a component of the business’s plan to increase profitability and Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) in the face of fierce competition in the telecom industry.

There would be a 22% rise on the standard Rs 155 plan, taking it up to Rs 189. This increase is in line with Jio’s strategy to maintain its expansive 5G network and provide consumers with value while charging more for its services.

Jio’s standard monthly package will now cost Rs 189 instead of Rs 155, which previously got you 2 GB of data over 28 days. The price increase for users choosing the plan that offers 1 GB of data per day for the same validity period is from Rs 209 to Rs 249. The 1.5 GB daily data plan will now cost 299 rupees instead of 239, and the 2 GB daily plan will now cost 349 rupees instead of 299 rupees.

Significant price rises have also been observed for Jio’s long-term contracts. The 1.5GB, 2GB, and 3GB daily data three-month plans are now more expensive. Annual plans have also seen rises that are more steep. The 24GB daily data package, which was previously cheap at 336 days, has seen a significant price increase. The yearly 365-day plan with 2.5GB of data per day has witnessed the biggest hike, now costing Rs 600 more than it did before.
