Delhi Police recovered 3 kg of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in old Seemapuri of north east Delhi. The IED was destroyed by National Security Guard force in a controlled explosion on Thursday.
Delhi Police got a tip off about a house in Old Seemapuri and since then the house was traced. The special cell of Delhi Police also intercepted several dozen suspicious phone calls. The suspects were renting an apartment using fake documents. The owner of the apartment Qasim did not carry out police verification before renting the place.
Qasim rented the second floor apartment through a property dealer Shakil. The place was rented by a single man but few days ago 3 more men came to the place and were living there. Before Delhi Police special cell could reach the spot all four suspects fled away.

Special cell has photographs of the suspects but their whereabouts are still not known. Police has suspected that these men are either part of a bigger conspiracy or they are part of a sleeper cell.
The interesting point is that the Improvised Explosive Device found in Old Seemapuri are similar to that found in Ghazipur flower market last month before Republic Day celebrations. Police has suspected that both the cases are inter related.
Forensic Science Laboratory has said that the explosives are also similar to IED that was found in massive bomb blast in a car parking in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh last month. All these events might be interlinked and security agencies should be vigilant in the matter.
