The Income Tax Department of India has announced to launch a new portal for taxpayers from June 7. Through this web portal, taxpayers will able to file income tax returns (ITR) and other tax-related tasks as well.
The tax department officials told that the newly launched web portal is quite user-friendly. They also added that the existing web portal will not be in action from June 1 to June 6.

However, an order was issued earlier by the concerned department of the tax department on Wednesday about this transition. Also, the existing portal www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in will change to www.incometaxgov.in.
The order said, “In preparation of this launch and for migration activities, the existing portal of the department at www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in would not be available for a brief period of six days from June 1 to 6.”
Brief Details to New ITR Portal
The new ITR portal will come into operation from June 7. It includes several new benefits and features. Note that all the impotent functions of this portal on the desktop will be available on a mobile application as well.

The newly launched ITR website integrated with the immediate process of Income Tax Returns (ITRs) which assist in quick refunds to taxpayers. Not only this, each interaction, pending actions, and uploads will also display on a single dashboard.
In order to make easy payments, the ITR portal is accompanied by a new online payment system including multiple payment options like UPI, credit card, net banking, RTGS, and NEFT.
