The 3rd wave of Covid-19 is likely to hit India in August. The IIT researchers who have correctly predicted the 2nd wave made the prediction for the 3rd wave. Moreover, they also said that the country might register 1 to 1.5 lakhs Covid cases per day during the third wave.
The two IITians (Mathukumalli Vidyasagar and Manindra Agrawal) developed a mathematical model in order to predict the Covid 2nd wave in India. Earlier, the researchers correctly predicted the second wave of Covid-19 in the month of April and May.
The research says that the next wave can affect 1,00,000 to 1,50,000cases daily. Professor Vidyasagar told Bloomberg in an email that states with high Coronavirus cases, like Maharashtra and Kerala, must pay extra attention to Covid-19 preventive measures and guidelines.
Earlier, in July, the SBI research also predicted that the third wave of Covid-19 will peak in India in August. Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) scientist Professor Samiran Panda told, “The third wave is likely to come by August-end and India may witness one lakh daily Covid-19 cases.”
