India Post Payments Bank has introduced “WhatsApp Banking Services.” 

India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) in collaboration with Airtel launched “WhatsApp Banking Services” on Friday. This service will allow IPPB customers to access their banking services on their mobile phones. This step is taken with the objective of promoting digital and financial incorporation between the citizens in their own languages.

This banking solution aims in providing its customers with multi-language support making it easier for people from rural areas. This solution of accessing banking services in their preferred language will easily connect  IPPB customers with their banks on the WhatsApp application.

The CGM & CSMO of India Post Payment Bank – Gussharan Rai Bansal said  “We are delighted to work with Bharti Airtel as our partner in driving digital and financial inclusion in India. We believe that the financial services driven by technology have great potential and can go a long way in ensuring that the best financial products reach the farthest corners of the country.”  

The business head Abhishek Biswal, the head of Airtel IQ highlighted the various advantages of the WhatsApp Banking channel adding that “Airtel IQ is a secure and intuitive cloud communication suite that already provides SMS and voice communication services to IPPB customers.’ He also added that “WhatsApp messaging will provide customers with a two-way communication channel, enhancing their banking experience with IPPB.”

The new update for banking service will allow its IPPB customers to easily connect with the banks on WhatsApp and also will have the access to a variety of banking services which include doorstep service, locating a post office nearby, and many more. IPPB collaborated with Airtel to deliver more than 250 million messages per month to the majority of customers living in rural areas.

The new update with the government’s Digital India agenda aims to improve access to digital services throughout the country, including rural regions. Customers will have better access to communicate with the bank at their fingertips thanks to the integration of WhatsApp chat.

The IPPB and Airtel IQ are collaborating to further incorporate a LIVE interactive customer service agent into the WhatsApp solution, allowing users to seek help 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
